(1) Funding to the Ministry for operational purposes is consistent with 1999/2000. Within this level of funding a range of things are reflected including: - Implementation of a proactive policy and research function; - Improvements in accountability standards associated with grants management and administration (supported by a contemporary database tool available on line to all statewide offices). - Proactive approach to increasing the Ministry's profile within industry and the community and contributing to an awareness of the infrastructure available to support physical activity. - Absorbing functions previously the responsibility of; - Women's SportWest; - North West Academy of Sport; - Aboriginal Foundation for Sport and Recreation; and - Coaching Foundation. - Implementation of a statewide communications infrastructure substantially improving effectiveness of Ministry offices located in Regional areas. - Increased capacity to deliver a range of initiatives including, but not limited to: - Programs to support improved governance standards across peak bodies - Development of a physical activity strategy - Initiation of sport and recreation volunteer recognition initiative - Extension of "Drug in Sport" education program - Development of harassment and child protection initiatives - Expansion of coach education and officiating education programs - Development of a Statewide facilities plan (2) No
