I thank the member for some notice of this question. I am advised - (1) Mining lease No 70/86, covering the Cable Sands Pty Ltd project at Ludlow state forest No 2, was granted on 6 November 2000. (2) Not applicable. (3) (a) I table a copy of the conditions presently imposed on mining lease No 70/86. Additional conditions, including the bond, will be added in due course. [See paper No 1829.] Hon KEN TRAVERS: (b) It is inappropriate for a surety to be applied to trees as a condition of the mining lease; however, in accordance with normal practice, a bond will be imposed on the lease to ensure that rehabilitation is undertaken to the agreed standards. (4) Questions about preservation of the tuarts identified in the tuart preservation plan should be addressed to the Minister for the Environment. (5) The Minister for State Development has been advised that the department will recommend a rehabilitation bond of $1.176 million.
