SANTOS LTD — STAFF
326. Mr R.S. LOVE to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question.
Thank you, Premier. It is also the
Premier's job to take care of federal–state relations. Will the
Premier discuss this matter with the federal government?

I remind the member that we are the
government that has overseen the creation of over 300 000 jobs in Western Australia.
An extra 300 000 jobs have been created in Western Australia since we came to
government. We see the opportunities being created for Western Australians
everywhere. I suspect that there are oil and gas companies right across Western
Australia at the moment that are rubbing their hands with glee to get hold of
those workers. The fact is that there is a huge demand for workers in that
sector. I wish those workers all the very best and I am sure they will have
great opportunities to continue to be part of the Western Australian workforce.
In relation to the issues around the
Nature Positive work, I have already answered that in response to the member's previous question. All I want from members
opposite is for them to come clean. Where do they stand on standing up for Western Australia? My government will always
do what is right for Western Australia. The Liberals and Nationals in Western
Australia sit idly while their national leader continues to sow an agenda that
is anti–Western Australian. That agenda would see Western Australian
jobs lost, the production tax credits rolled back and the opportunities for Western Australia to become a renewable energy
powerhouse diminish. Of course, it would also see the u ndoing of the
GST. The biggest threat to Western Australia today is Peter Dutton and his
Liberal and National Party colleagues, and those opposite have to be held to
account.
