WA Police
Western Australia Police does not provide specific details regarding resources of individual police stations due to operational sensitivity. Resources are principally allocated at a District level and District Superintendents deploy these resources within their District to provide the best possible policing service to meet operational requirements and the varying needs of the community. The following response provides vehicle details for the Great Southern Police District:
(a) 64
(b) 41
(c) 0
(d) 69% of the vehicles were ordered directly from the vehicle manufacturer. The remaining vehicles were ordered and delivered through Perth metropolitan dealerships.
(e) Police radio and in-vehicle data systems are installed and subsequently removed by police technicians at a central metropolitan location. Vehicle acceptance testing and quality checks are also performed at this location prior to deployment throughout Western Australia.
Office of Road Safety
The Office of Road Safety is administratively supported as part of Main Roads WA and as such the response will be included in the MRWA response under the Minister for Transport.
