Noting the Premier's comments in Hansard of 25 June 2015 that the the new Burswood stadium "is designed to have two simple expansions", and I ask: (a) are there designs to expand the stadium from 60,000 seats to 70,000; (b) are there designs to expand the stadium from 60,000 seats to 80,000; and (c) have these designs been costed for an indicative costings: (i) If yes, what is the costing to expand the stadium from 60,000 seats to 70,000 seats; and (ii) If yes, what is the costing to expand the stadium from 60,000 seats to 80,000 seats?

(a) - (cii) As per the Project Definition Plan for the Perth Stadium released in September 2012, the stadium is being built so that future expansion of 70,000 or more can be accommodated.  The current contract with Westadium has a requirement to incorporate design elements that will allow an expansion to 70,000 and anything above this would be included as part of future designs to accommodate a growing population. The costs of expanding to 70,000 or more would be part of any future business case and project definition plan, which in part will be based on patronage numbers.
