DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION — BUDGET
190. Ms R. SAFFIOTI to the
Treasurer:
I refer to the cuts to school budgets implemented this year.
(1) Can the
Treasurer confirm that on top of the cuts already implemented for this
financial year, $18 million will be cut from staff in 2014–15?
(2) Given that
the director general said that this year is the first time that cuts have
impacted on schools, is the plan to continue to cut school budgets and not
protect individual schools from efficiencies?

Mr Speaker, that sounds very familiar to the question that the member for
Armadale just asked the Premier, but I will answer it. There are a few sleeps
left until the budget.
Ms R. Saffioti interjected.
The SPEAKER :
Member for West Swan!
Dr M.D. NAHAN : We
will see what the budget does.
