(2) Is the Government still committed to building the Karnup Train Station in this current term: (a) is yes, when will construction commence; and (b) why does the Government consider Karnup Train Station more important to build than Lakelands Train Station? (3) does the Government intend on building a train station at Gordon Road, Mandurah, as first identified in the 2006 Labor Government's "Gordon Road Planning Precinct Structure Plan"?

(1) Yes. (a)-(b) The State Government was expecting a funding commitment for this project from the Federal Cabinet during its recent visit. The State will continue to lobby Federal Ministers and will be putting forward a construction program when the Federal Government provides a funding commitment.
(2) Yes. (a)-(b) Federal funding is first required. It was an election commitment and I note the State Liberal’s failure to fund a station over the previous 8 and a half years.
(3) There are no current plans to construct a station at Gordon Road, although provision exists for this to occur in future if necessary.
