I refer to the Derby Wharf, and I ask: (a) what is the operational status of the Derby Wharf; (b) what is the approved bulk commodity export capacity of the wharf and how is this determined; (c) when was the last safety assessment of the Derby Wharf done; (d) how often is the safety of the Derby Wharf inspected; (e) will the Minister table the most recent safety assessment of the Derby Wharf: (i) if no to (e), why not; (f) what has been the annual maintenance budget for the Derby Wharf for the past five financial years; (g) is the Derby Wharf currently in a condition that is suitable for the export of coal; (h) if no to (g), what upgrades are required and what would be the estimated costs of these upgrades; and (i) does the Minister agree that the Derby Wharf could in its current form and condition export 2.5 million tonnes of coal per year: (i) if no to (i), why not?

(b) There is no current bulk approved export commodity.
(c) December 2013.
(d) General safety inspections are undertaken on an ongoing basis and a structural inspection is undertaken on a two yearly basis.
(e) No.
(i) The report is the property of the Shire of Derby-West Kimberley.
(f) This question needs to be directed to the Shire of Derby-West Kimberley, which provides funding to the annual maintenance for the Derby Wharf.
(g) No.
(h) The nature and cost of any potential upgrade work would be dependent on a proposal and handling methodology being submitted for consideration, which has not occurred.
