Australia, as a signatory to the 1949 United Nations Geneva Convention on Road Traffic, recognises valid driver’s licences from other member countries. This reciprocal agreement also allows WA drivers including other Australian States and Territories to use their driving licences when travelling overseas.
Rental companies may set extra conditions, such as being at least 21 years old or holding a full licence for at least 12 months.
