I refer the minister to the recent dumping of a large quantity of a controlled waist product “toxic sludge” on a road verge near Karratha in April 2006. The full details are outlined in a press article from the Pilbara News of 3 May 2006.
(1) Will the Minister advise what action has been taken by his Department to identify and prosecute the perpetrators of this illegal waste dumping activity?
(2) Will the Minister advise what steps are in place to rehabilitate the other 10 illegal waste dump sites identified in the area.
