(1) The geographical application and funding eligibility, as it applies to the Royalties for Regions funds, is being announced in concert with the release of each initiative. In general, funds will apply to all communities within the nine regions, as defined under the
Regional Development Commissions Act 1993.
(2) The guidelines and processes for each Royalties for Regions initiative are being developed and progressively released as they are completed. For example, I released the Country Local Government Fund on 16 December 2008 and all associated guidelines and formulas for the distribution of funds are publicly available. In general, all nine regions, as defined under the
Regional Development Commissions Act 1993
, would be eligible for access to the fund. However, in developing the policy for certain initiatives, some localities may be excluded due to a range of factors, for example with the Bush Change Housing Grant, there may be areas excluded based on the size of the community.
(3) All funds that are made available on a contestable funding basis will be open to the public and fully accountable. Other allocations agreed to by State Cabinet, and other additional allocations made to support statewide and regionally strategic projects, will be subject to existing Economic and Expenditure Review Committee and Cabinet processes.
(4) Refer to answers 2 and 3.
(5) Refer to answer 1.
