Question on Notice regarding police, detective, and forensic officer numbers (FTE and headcount) in the Pilbara District from 2009-2014. The response provides approved FTE and headcount data, but notes limitations in providing actual officer numbers for detective and forensic roles due to resource constraints.

Western Australia Police has moved from monthly reporting to quarterly reporting of staff numbers. Therefore, the closest quarter to the requested date of 30 April is 31 March. The actual strength number includes officers on Leave Without Pay.
The response required for parts of questions (d)-(g) relating to the actual officers undertaking detectives and forensic roles in the districts would take a significant amount of time and resources to collate and process. It is therefore not possible for Police to obtain this information without significantly compromising other core services.
