Minister for Police aware of calls by police in Donnybrook for an upgrade of
the town's closed-circuit television systems after a recent incident

AnswerView source ↗

On behalf of the Minister for Police, I thank the honourable
member for some notice of the question.
(1) Donnybrook
police are working with the Shire of Donnybrook–Balingup in its review
of the council's CCTV systems. However, any decision to upgrade or
expand that infrastructure is a decision for the shire.
(2) The
Liberal–National government is currently finalising a state CCTV
strategy to pioneer an integrated network to make communities safer by
targeting crime hotspots. Part of that strategy includes state government
funding support to local governments for CCTV infrastructure.
(3) In 2015–16,
the state government will provide $5 million in grants under a CCTV
infrastructure fund established under the state CCTV strategy. The Shire of
Donnybrook–Balingup will have the opportunity to apply for grants from
that fund.
