I refer to the minutes of the Cockburn Sound Management Council dated 11 December 2017, and I ask: (a) has the Minister received a submission or request from the Cockburn Sound Management Council regarding funding for telemetered water quality measuring instruments; (b) if yes, on what date did the Minister receive the submission or request; (c) if yes to (b), will the Minister table the submission or request; (d) how much funding did the Council request to install telemetered water quality measuring instruments; (e) has funding been provided to the Council to install telemetered water quality measuring instruments; and (f) if no to (d), why not?

(a)-(c) On 1 February 2018, the Minister received advice from the Chair of the Cockburn Sound Management Council (dated 29 January 2018) on the Expert Advisory Panel’s report and recommendations on Cockburn Sound water monitoring programs. The advice included indicative costings but there was no request for funding. I table that advice here

(d)-(f) No funding was requested, but the indicative cost for the purchase and deployment of telemetered water quality monitoring instruments is approximately $600,000.
