KURRA VILLAGE
793. Ms M.J. DAVIES to the Minister for Lands:
I refer to BHP's decision in
July 2016 to close the Kurra Village work camp and to an article in the North
West Telegraph of 29 November last year titled ''Kurra stay extended'',
and a further article on 8 August this year titled ''Village closure no
closer''.
(1) Has the government placed a deadline
on the closure of the camp?
(2) Considering
it has been almost two years since BHP made the decision to close Kurra
Village, why is the minister not holding BHP accountable for its decision?

I thank the member for the question.
I will get further advice from the Minister for State Development, Jobs and
Trade and the Department of State Development about the status of that closure
and I will provide that information later today.
