It has been taken that the Member is referring to Legislative Council Question on Notice 5514.
(a) As at 7 May 2012, WorkSafe had 21 vacancies. As at 1 April 2014, WorkSafe has 11 vacancies. Of the three WorkSafe positions vacant for more than seven years, one position has been filled, one FTE has been transferred to another location and filled substantively and one position remains vacant. The positions that were vacant for more than four and two years remain vacant. Three of the positions that were vacant for more than one year remain vacant.
(b)(i) WorkSafe undertakes regular recruitment activities to fill vacancies and has put in place a number of strategies to retain inspectors.
(ii) Nine of the existing vacancies are allocated to the metropolitan area. The remaining two vacancies are allocated to regional Western Australia.
