601. Hon Dr BRAD PETTITT to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Planning:
I refer to the consideration of the
alignment and design of Garden Island Highway within recommendation 4 of the
Cape Peron planning investigation area future strategy.
(1) Can the
minister outline what will be assessed as part of this consideration?
(2) Will
environmental impacts form part of this consideration?
(3) Will
environmental impacts on the surrounding class A reserve form part of this
consideration?

honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(3) As per recommendation 4 of the report, if
required, the highway alignment and design will be a ppropriately
considered in consultation with the Department of Defence and cognisant of the
environmental values of Cape Peron and Lake Richmond.
