DIGITAL
ADVERTISING
495. Hon MARTIN PRITCHARD to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the Minister for Transport's answer to
question without notice 437 in relation to digital billboards.
(1) For each of the other proposed digital billboards —
(a) what are the proposed
locations;
(b) what is the estimated cost;
(c) are the
financial arrangements for construction and instalment costs the same as for
the existing billboard as outlined in question without notice 437; and
(d) what safety audits have been
undertaken for each location?
(2) Have there
been any changes to the proposed locations in (1)(a); and, if so, what is the
estimated cost of any proposed change?

AnswerView source ↗

On behalf of the parliamentary secretary representing the
Minister for Transport, I thank the member for some notice of the question.
(1) (a) There
are nine billboards being considered for installation at various locations,
including on the Mitchell and Kwinana Freeways.
(b) There is
no direct installation cost of the billboards to the state government. The cost
will be met by the advertising revenue generated by this initiative.
(c) The financial arrangements are
similar but may vary from site to site.
(d) Road
safety assessments have not been undertaken yet for sites on the Mitchell and
Kwinana Freeways. These still have to be undertaken to confirm the sites are
suitable locations for billboards. A final road safety assessment is being
prepared for the Burswood site.
(2) No. The
appropriateness of the proposed locations for the billboards will be considered
as road safety assessments are completed.
