DUST MANAGEMENT — BUYBACK SCHEME —
PORT HEDLAND
1063. Hon JACQUI BOYDELL to the Minister for Regional Development:
I have two questions today.
I refer to the report handed down by
Mr Ross Love pertaining to the voluntary buyback scheme in Port Hedland.
(1) Will the minister table a copy
of the report?
(2) Will the
minister provide the data that backed the decision to claim August 2019 as the
date of unaffected value?
(3) If no to (1) or (2), why not?

I thank the member for the question.
I have signed off on it, but, unfortunately, there is no copy in my file here.
(1)–(3) The
report that was prepared by Ross Love was for the deliberation of cabinet, so
it forms the basis of a cabinet document. The date of 6 August 2019 was chosen
because that was the date we announced the intention to consider a buyback
scheme. I assure members that part of the proposal is that prices will be
indexed from that date, so we will look at the movement of property prices in
Port Hedland more generally outside that zone,
and that will establish an index that will be added to the base price from that
date of 6 August.
