605. Hon DARREN WEST to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the $81 million allocated
in the 2014–15 budget for works on Great Northern Highway, Muchea–Wubin
stage 2.
(1) Will the
works and allocation within stage 2 include funding and construction of the
Bindoon deviation?
(2) Has the corridor for the Bindoon
deviation been identified?
(3) What is the
total amount required for the Bindoon deviation; and, of that amount, how much
has been allocated for the acquisition of land?
(4) Has any land been acquired in
advance of the work?
(5) When is work likely to commence?

(2) Yes, a corridor been identified.

has called for tenders for an integrated project services consultancy to
conduct a planning study that recommends treatment and priorities for upgrade
of all remaining sections of Great Northern Highway from Muchea to Wubin. This
study will assess the costs and the staging options for the Bindoon deviation,
including land acquisition.
(4) No.
(5) Not applicable.
