PERTH URBAN RAIL DEVELOPMENT, SUPPLEMENTARY MASTER PLAN 275. Ms K. HODSON-THOMAS to the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure: I refer to the Perth Urban Rail Development Supplementary Master Plan released in August 2002, and to the new travel demand forecasts carried out using an enhanced computer model. The plan states - Because of the importance of demand modelling, a full description of the process is given in a separate paper. What follows in this part are the salient points from that paper. (1) Did the minister know that the important separate paper was not prepared at the time the supplementary master plan was tabled in August? (2) Is the minister aware that, according to a senior PURD staff member, the important separate paper referred to in the three-month-old supplementary master plan will not be ready for at least another month? (3) How can the minister expect Parliament to pass a Bill to enable the railway to be constructed, when members cannot scrutinise the patronage figures on which the proposal is based? Ms A.J. MacTIERNAN

I have been given no notice of this question. The member for Carine is claiming that officers of my agencies made certain statements to her. Before responding, I want to ask those officers whether they made the statements claimed by the member for Carine.
