(a) The Assistant Director General, Corporate and Business Services Division, is responsible for the collection of data related to the Department of the Premier and Cabinet.
(b) Officers in the Corporate and Business Services Division submitted data to the Sustainable Energy Development Office (SEDO), who then compiled the data into ‘baseline’ information.
(c) For 2002/03, the following Ministerial offices were above the 2001/02 baseline:
·
Office of the Minister for the Environment
·
Office of the Minister for Agriculture; Forestry and Fisheries; the Midwest, Wheatbelt and Great Southern
In the case of the Minister for the Environment, the increase is attributable to an increase in the number of people located in the Office. However, the energy usage level per person in 2002/03 was 61.8% of the energy usage level per person in 2001/2002.
In the case of the Minister for Agriculture; Forestry and Fisheries; the Midwest, Wheatbelt and Great Southern, a significant capital works program was taking place at Dumas House during parts of 2002/03 and this required air handling units to be run every night for around 3 months. The associated increase in energy consumption was passed on to tenants and is evident in the figures for the Minister’s office.
Changes such as those experienced by these Ministerial offices are necessarily reflected in the energy consumption figures but there is no provision for adjusting the baseline.
(d) Work was undertaken by existing staff of the Department, and therefore no additional costs were incurred.
(e) Yes
(f) The Sustainable Energy Development Office (SEDO)
(g) Not applicable
