The average serious crash rate for this section of the Bussell Highway over this period is 9.7 per 100 Million Vehicle Kilometres Travelled compared to a State average for rural highways and main roads of 7.5 per 100 MVKT. The average fatal crash rate for this section of Bussell Highway over this period is 2.8 per 100 MVKT compared to a State average for rural highways and main roads of 1.2 per 100 MVKT. (3). Of the total number of crashes reported on this section of road in this period, 8 crashes have involved overtaking manoeuvres and 16 crashes involved vehicles turning off the Highway.
