As I said, the Office of Road Safety
is engaged with the Department of Transport with respect to the safety
assessment of that billboard. I am sorry if I did not make that clear in my
first answer but —
Ms
M.M. Quirk interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Girrawheen, I call you to order for the second time.
Point of Order
Mrs
M.H. ROBERTS : Mr Speaker, in my supplementary question, I inquired
about what the original advice was from the Office of Road Safety and I am
awaiting that answer.
Questions without Notice Resumed
The
SPEAKER : Are you going to add anything, minister?
Mrs L.M. HARVEY :
My understanding of what has occurred to date is that the general assessment of
that signage has passed the safety audit assessment of the Office of Road
Safety, and the Commissioner of Main Roads has made his decision based on the
safety audit commissioned at the time. As I have already said, and as the
Minister for Transport has put on the record already, there is a further
investigation into one of those signs over Bull Creek station.
Point of Order
Mrs
M.H. ROBERTS : I again reiterate that I have asked whether the Office
of Road Safety supported the sign in its original recommendation. That is the
only answer I want, minister.

Mrs L.M. HARVEY :
As I have said, and as the Minister for Transport has said, when the safety
audit of that sign has been finalised, that report will be made public.
