Port Hedland—water supply
602. Mr Peter Rundle to
the Minister for Water:
I have a
supplementary question. If not Millstream, then what, where and when?

AnswerView source ↗

As I said, this government takes water security incredibly
seriously. Without water security the state's growth will be limited. That is
why we are investing so significantly right around the state, such as in the Alkimos
desalination plant, which the member for Butler is keenly aware of in her area,
supporting local jobs by the manufacturing of pipes. There is pipework right
around the state. We are looking at opportunities in Albany, in the West
Pilbara and the Kimberley. We are looking everywhere. We are making sure that
in a situation of climate change and rapid population growth because of this
state's success we will provide for the security of water in the Pilbara in the
future.
