I refer to public housing stock in WA and I ask: (a) What is the State’s current public housing stock; (b) Over the past 12 months, how many private purchases of these homes have displaced tenants; (c) Can the same data for (1) and (2) be provided for the Geraldton and Mid West areas; (d) In the Geraldton area, how many people are currently on the public housing waitlist; (e) In the Geraldton area, how many people are currently on the public housing priority waitlist; (f) In the Geraldton area, how many of houses as part of the public housing stock are currently boarded up; (g) In the Mid West area, how many people are currently on the public housing waitlist; (h) In the Mid West area, how many people are currently on the public housing priority waitlist; and (i) In the Mid West area, how many of houses as part of the public housing stock are currently boarded up?

As at 30 September 2025:
(a)       37,772
(b)       Nil.
(c)       1,730 in the Midwest/Gascoyne Region and 1,083 in the City of Greater Geraldton. Nil private purchases displacing tenants.
(d)       855 applications.
(e)       306 applications.
(f)       As part of the maintenance process, properties may be secured to protect the property from damage while work is being completed or during assessment of the long-term suitability of the property for  return to use. The requirement to secure a property is managed by the Head Maintenance Contractor when undertaking works. It should be noted there are secured properties across Western Australia that are not owned by the Department.
(g)       1,129 applications in the Midwest/Gascoyne Region.
(h)       405 priority listed applications in the Midwest/Gascoyne Region.
(i)        The requirement to secure a property is managed by the Head Maintenance Contractor when undertaking works.
