I refer to the Walpole Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWWTP), and ask -
(1) Is the WWWTP currently compliant with the conditions of its
Environmental Protection Act 1986
sewage facility license?
(2) If no to (1), what are the matters subject to the breach of license and what remedial action is required to bring about compliance?
(3) Is the WWWTP currently compliant with the conditions of its
Environmental Protection Act 1986
liquid waste facility license?
(4) If no to (3), what are the matters subject to the breach of license and what remedial action is required to bring about compliance?
(5) Has the WWWTP ever breached conditions of its
Environmental Protection Act 1986
sewage treatment facility license or liquid waste facility license?
(6) If yes to (5), what are the matters subject to the breach of license and what remedial action was required to bring about compliance?

1-2.  Yes.
3-4.  Not applicable - the Walpole Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWWTP) does not hold a licence for liquid waste.
5-6.  The Water Corporation has breached its licence conditions for:
a) not undertaking sampling and monitoring of waste water at the required times and not reporting in the correct standard; and
b) an unauthorised sewage discharge.
The Water Corporation has improved its monitoring frequency and reporting methods to ensure breaches of this nature do not occur again.
On 21 January 2008, the Water Corporation advised the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) that a geotextile bag had failed, resulting in biosolids discharging from the bag and crossing onto DEC owned land. DEC advised the Water Corporation on 21 January 2008 that it must commence an immediate cleanup. The Water Corporation advised DEC on 23 January 2008 that the cleanup had been completed.
