As a preamble to the question, the Minister for Education said that a high number of foster children are failing in the Education Department.  My previous question relating to the number of foster children could not be answered by the Minister for Education.  Therefore, I ask - (1) How many children are in foster care in Western Australia? (2) How many of those children are school-age children? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH

This is what a parliamentary secretary does! Hon Peter Foss:  This is all you do! Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH:  This is all I do!  Hon Peter Foss is so well located there that he can spend the whole of question time asking the member next to him what he does rather than wasting my time with his interjections! The PRESIDENT:  Order. Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH:  I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1)-(2) As at 22 May 2001, there were 1 134 children in departmental and external foster care.
