I refer to bed occupancy rates, and ask: (a) for each of 2014 and 2015 to date, what has been the bed occupancy rate at: (i) the Bunbury intensive care unit (ICU); (ii) the Bunbury high dependency unit; (iii) the Bunbury emergency department; and (iv) Bunbury Regional Hospital; (b) how many patients were transported to Perth because they needed a higher level of ICU care than is available at the Bunbury ICU; and (c) for each of 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 to date, what has been the bed occupancy rate at the Bunbury Mental Health Unit?

Answer as at 30 September 2015 -
(a) Regarding (i-ii), it is not possible to separate high dependency unit (HDU) and intensive care unit (ICU) patient bed days with any validity when calculating occupancy. Occupancy is calculated based on a daily census of patients in beds at midnight.
Regarding (iii), activity in the Emergency Department (ED) is represented by attendees rather than occupancy or bed days.
