No, I cannot confirm the first
point. I do not know where Hill lives. As I said, he is not a dangerous sex
offender. He does not come within the jurisdiction or capture of the office of
the Attorney General. I do not know exactly where he is living today.
As
to the protection of children in the area, he has committed a reportable sex
offence. By reason of that, he is on the register, and by reason of that, the police are charged with keeping a particularly
close eye on this character. I repeat : the Attorney General will fire up
into action on this matter on proclamation of the High Risk Offenders Bill,
which was an initiative of the McGowan Labor government to protect the
community from not only dangerous sex offenders, but also any violent offenders
who are released into the community. We will get the job done.
