I refer to the proposed grade separation of Nicholson Road
and the freight rail line.
(1) When is it expected construction will commence?
(2) When is it expected construction will be completed?
(3) What is the estimated total cost of the project?
(4) How much is allocated in the current budget and where is
it allocated?
(5) How much of the project's cost will be funded by —

(1) Allowing
for the normal procurement process, it is expected that a tender will be
awarded 15 months after funding approval by the state government.
(2) Eighteen months after the tender award.
(3) The probable cost estimates are $29.3 million for P50 and
$36 million for P90.
(4) The
federal government provided an allocation of up to $18 million on a shared
funding arrangement in the last federal budget. The Public Transport Authority
is preparing an urgent submission to the state government for funding to match
the federal government allocation with a view to obtaining approval to commence
procurement in the last quarter of this calendar year.
