I refer to the imminent loss of funding to the Whitfords Volunteer Sea Rescue Group, due to the City of Joondalup’s possible takeover of its telecommunications contract. (1) Will the state government increase the funding for the metropolitan sea rescue group to make up any funding shortfall that will result from the contract transfer? (2) If no to (1), how does the minister expect the Whitfords sea rescue group to continue to provide its current 24/7 marine rescue and assistance service without an adequate source of income?
