RIO TINTO — CARNARVON AND GERALDTON FLIGHTS
475. Mr V.A. CATANIA to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question.
Will the Premier seek some advice from Rio Tinto about why it is potentially
getting rid of 40 employees in Geraldton and Carnarvon?

I am unaware of what the member is
referring to; I assume it is fly in, fly out positions. Is that correct?
Mr V.A. Catania : Yes.
Mr M. McGOWAN : So the member
is supporting fly in, fly out positions there, okay, just so I understand.
Mr V.A. Catania interjected.
Mr M. McGOWAN : No. The member
is saying that those fly in, fly out positions should happen —
Mr V.A. Catania interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for North
West Central!
Mr M. McGOWAN : Mr Speaker, I am
just clarifying, because it appears that the member is saying that he supports
those fly in, fly out positions. I want it on the record that the member for
North West Central supports those fly in, fly out positions. I will seek some
clarification on the matter.
