I refer to Collie’s Yancoal Australia Group’s Premier Coal mine and the required reporting methods for mine rehabilitation, and ask, in the last six months: (a) how many hectares of soil dumps have been revegetated under mine site rehabilitation; (b) what are the projected hectares of rehabilitated areas for: (i) 2014; (ii) 2015; (iii) 2016; (iv) 2017; and (v) 2018; (c) is there a Western Australian State Government rehabilitation guideline that is applicable to Yancoal Australia’s Premier mine, and: (i) if yes, which guideline; and (ii) if not, how is the rehabilitation of the mine site assessed and reviewed and by who; and (d) if applicable, how far behind is the company in its rehabilitation program?

Department of State Development advises:
(a) Approximately 10.5 hectares has been prepared for rehabilitation.
(b)-(i)  24 hectares.
(b)-(ii)-(v) Subject to future mine planning Premier Coal anticipate rehabilitating between
10 to 20 hectares per annum from 2015 to 2018.
(c) Yes

(d) Of the 24 hectares planned for rehabilitation during 2014 Premier Coal has completed 10.5 hectares.
