I thank the member for some notice of this question. There are now seven new living projects under way in metropolitan Perth and a further nine in country areas. The seven metropolitan projects, which cover 14 suburbs, include the “new north” of Balga, Girrawheen, Koondoola and Westminster; Bentley - Brownlie Towers; Coolbellup; Langford; Eastern Horizons, which includes Midland, Midvale, Middle Swan, Swan View and Koongamia; Queens Park; and Southwell, which includes Hamilton Hill. It should be noted that projects in Armadale, Lockridge, Karawara and Kwinana, including Calista, Medina, Orelia and Parmelia, have already been completed. There are also nine country projects. The projects include Spencer Park/Mt Lockyer in Albany; Carey Park and Withers in Bunbury; Collie; Nulsen in Esperance; Narrogin; South Kalgoorlie; Rangeway, Spalding, and Utakarra and Waggrakine in Geraldton; South Carnarvon, Brockman and Morgan Town in Carnarvon; and South Hedland. Projects in Northam and Moora are also scheduled to commence soon. Within these project areas opportunities for affordable housing are provided to the general public through the sale of renovated ex-departmental dwellings. The amenity of social housing is also improved through the refurbishment of public housing. Land suitable for affordable housing will be provided in the following areas: Ellenbrook, Clarkson-Somerly, Brighton, Wellard, Parmelia, Kwinana, Geraldton - Seacrest, Albany - Woodrise, and Dalyellup. Projects to come include Banksia Grove, Brookdale and Albany - Bayonet Head.
