(1) When will the Government announce details of its plan to develop part of the old Hillview hospital site for housing? Hon TOM STEPHENS

(1)-(2) The Premier made an announcement on behalf of the Government indicating the opportunity to restore Edward Millen Home, drawing, in the first instance, on the development of the adjacent lands associated with Hillview.  We are in the early stage of the efforts to bring this matter to resolution.  The Premier has taken an active interest in the site; it is within his electorate.  Like many people, he has watched other projects around the metropolitan area undergo major restoration work - like the Heathcote site - and he would want to take up the opportunity to restore that prime building for the use of the community of Victoria Park. As more details become available I am sure we will have the opportunity to provide them to the member.
