❓ Hon. Tjorn Sibma questions the Premier regarding the Resources Community Infrastructure Initiative (RCII), specifically about transparency in the expressions-of-interest process and the approach to projects lacking private sector support. The Premier's response cites ongoing negotiations as a reason for non-disclosure and assures that projects aren't solely reliant on RCII funding.

RESOURCES COMMUNITY
INFRASTRUCTURE INITIATIVE
1126. Hon TJORN SIBMA to the Leader of the House representing
the Premier:
I refer to the cessation of the
expressions-of-interest period for the resources community infrastructure
initiative.
(1) What genuine
probity concerns prevent the Premier from disclosing whether expressions of
interest were received for each RCII project?
(2) What will be
the Premier's approach to delivering RCII projects that have not, or
will not, attract sufficient private sector support?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Company
contributions proposed through the EOI process are subject to negotiation and
have not yet been finalised. It is premature to announce outcomes until the
negotiation process has been finalised.
(2) The RCII provides an opportunity for companies to
contribute to projects nominated by the WA government . However, those
projects are not solely reliant on RCII funding and delivery will be subject to
the normal government processes.
