Strata titles management
512. Hon Neil Thomson to
the parliamentary secretary representing the
Minister for Planning and Lands:
I refer to the
review of the operation and effectiveness of WA's strata law "as early as
possible after 1 May 2025" and note the concerns of many apartment owners.
(1) Has the review been completed and, if not,
when is it expected to be finalised?
(2) Will or has the review considered concerns of
the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission over the concentration of
market power of strata management companies in Australia, which is leading to,
in some cases, excessive fees being charged?
(3) Does the state comprehensively monitor strata
management fees in WA?
(4) If no to (3), why not?
(5) What other measures are taken to monitor the
state of the market for strata management in WA?
