I refer to pre-service teacher education programs at Western Australian universities, and I ask:(a) How many students commenced a pre-service teacher education program (including undergraduate and postgraduate programs) at WA universities in each year from 2017 to 2025;(b) Of those commencing in (a), how many completed their program in each year; and(c) What is the current standard duration of an undergraduate teacher education program at WA universities?

Included in the totals are students with temporary entry study visas (subclass 500) as well as students who are studying online and reside outside of Western Australia.
The number of students enrolled in 2024 and 2025 includes those studying the new Graduate Diploma.
Deidentified, post census data is provided by Edith Cowan University, Curtin University, University of Notre Dame, Murdoch University and University of Western Australia, and collated by the Department of Education.
(b) As the data is deidentified, it is not possible to match individuals who commence with those who complete. Post census completions data shows the total number of students who completed their qualification in that year, regardless of year of commencement. The below de-identified post census data was provided by Edith Cowan University, Curtin University, University of Notre Dame, Murdoch University and University of Western Australia, and collated by the Department of Education.
