MR NEIL WINZER, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT
(1) Can the Premier confirm that he is in receipt of allegations by Mr Neil Winzer relating to fraud, misappropriation, falsification of records, perjury, breaches of enterprise agreements and harassment involving past and present officers of the Department of Transport? (2) Can the Premier inform the House what action was taken by the Department of Transport to investigate both the allegations of Mr Winzer and the subsequent calls for an inquiry by the now Minister for Police and the Minister for Agriculture? (3) Given that an inquiry has not yet taken place, because the Anti-Corruption Commission has advised Mr Winzer that the matter should appropriately be investigated by the Public Sector Standards Commission, and the PSSC has said that the ACC is the appropriate body to investigate, will the Premier indicate which body or organisation is the most appropriate to investigate this matter? (4) Will the Premier ensure that there is a genuine inquiry into the Winzer allegations? Hon KIM CHANCE

I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1)-(4) I am advised that the Premier is aware of Mr Winzer’s allegations and that he has written to the Premier on a number of occasions. Presently, the Crown Solicitor’s Office is considering certain matters raised by Mr Winzer to provide the Premier with advice on these matters. It is not appropriate that I comment further on the question.
