CULTURAL HERITAGE ACT
1344. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the Leader of the House representing
the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs:
I refer to the Aboriginal Cultural
Heritage Act 2021.
(1) Has the act been repealed?
(2) Have the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Regulations
2022 and the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage (Cost Recovery) Regulations
2023 been repealed?
(3) If yes to (1) or (2), on what
date did this finally occur?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(3) The
Aboriginal Heritage Legislation Amendment and Repeal Bill 2023 was passed by
the Parliament on 17 October 2023, delivering on the government's
commitment. The repeal bill received royal assent on 24 October 2023, was proclaimed on 1 November 2023 and will come into
operation on 15 November 2023.
