Financial Management Act—Section 82 notices
853. Hon Michelle Hofmann to the parliamentary secretary representing the Treasurer:
I refer to section 82 notices under the Financial Management Act 2006 .
(1) Has the Auditor General written to any ministers
in 2023–24, 2024–25 and the financial year 2025–26 to
date to remind them of their obligations under the act?
(2) If yes, which ministers and will the Treasurer
table a copy of those letters and any responses?
The President: That
question is seeking a fair amount of data going back a long time, but we will
see if the Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer has it.

Hon Samantha Rowe: As an independent officer of the
Parliament with discretion in managing the Office of the Auditor General's
functions, the Auditor General would encourage members and committees of
Parliament to liaise directly with the office should they wish to seek
information regarding its operations and activities. That information can, of
course, be conveyed to the Parliament more broadly if necessary or desirable.
