I refer to the annual report of the Disability Services Commission which, on page 33, list how many users accessed services for the past three years, and I ask: (a) in each of 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14, how many users accessed services provided directly by the Disability Services Commission; (b) in each of 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14, how many users accessed services provided by disability sector organisations; (c) in each of 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14, what was the average cost per service user of services provided directly by the Disability Services Commission; and (d) in each of 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14, what was the average cost per service user of services provided by disability sector organisations?

Response time
40 days
(a) 2011-12, 10,485 service users
· 2012-13, 10,850 service users
· 2013-14, 11,446 service users
(b) 2011-12, 18,967 services users
· 2012-13, 18,529 service users
· 2013-14, 19,437 service users
Note: A substantial number of people access services through both the Disability Services Commission and disability sector organisations and have been counted in both responses (a) and (b). As a result, adding the figures above will not yield the totals observed in the Annual Report.
(c) 2011-12, $20,359.56

· 2013-14, $19,770.23
(d) 2011-12, $23,409.08
· 2012-13 $26,814.72
· 2013-14, $29,213.87
Note: The different average cost per service user between the Commission and the wider sector reflects the different types of services accessed either directly or under contract. The different costs reflect different services delivered.
