431. Hon DARREN WEST to the minister
representing the Minister for Mental Health:
I refer to today's media
statement about the budget allocation for 60 additional rehabilitation beds for
people addicted to methamphetamine.
(1) How many of these beds will be
located in regional Western Australia?
(2) Where will these regional beds
be located?
(3) How much of
the additional funding boost to the Mental Health Commission will be allocated
to regional Western Australia?

I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1) At this stage, it is envisaged
that 32 beds will be located in regional Western Australia.
(2) The specific
location of the beds within regional areas will be determined in the implementation
and procurement phases.
(3) An amount of
$3.6 million is currently budgeted for regionally located services and $2.8 million
for statewide services.
