I refer the Premier to advice to government from Dr Barry Wilson, Chairman of the Marine Parks and Reserves Authority, opposing the proposed development at Mauds Landing. (1) Is the Premier aware that under the previous Labor Government Dr Barry Wilson, in his then role with the Department of Conservation and Land Management, supported enthusiastically a significantly larger Mauds Landing development proposal than the one currently under consideration? (2) If so, has the Premier sought any clarification from Dr Wilson about his change of opinion on Mauds Landing; and, if so, is the Premier satisfied with Dr Wilson’s explanation? (3) If the Premier is not satisfied with Dr Wilson’s explanation, what further action has the Premier taken or does he propose to take? (4) If the Premier has not sought an explanation from Dr Wilson about his change of opinion on the development of Mauds Landing, will the Premier do so now; and, if not, why not? Hon KIM CHANCE

Hon KIM CHANCE: A different proposal, yes. Hon Norman Moore: No, a bigger one. Hon KIM CHANCE: Yes, indeed. The proposal was ultimately rejected by the previous coalition Government and is therefore irrelevant to the current proposal by Coral Coast Marina Development Pty Ltd. Furthermore, the advice to government regarding the current proposal provided under the signature of Dr Barry Wilson is the advice of the Marine Parks and Reserves Authority. Hon Norman Moore: And not his? Hon KIM CHANCE: Not specifically, no.
