561. Hon KEN TRAVERS to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) On what dates in 2013 did new railcars arrive in WA?
(2) On what dates did they enter service?
(3) Has the supplier provided the government with a delivery
schedule for future railcar deliveries?
(4) Why is the
Minister for Transport unable to provide more precise dates on which each
railcar will —
(a) be delivered; and
(b) enter service?
(5) When are the four railcars required for the Butler
extension expected to arrive in WA?

(1) On 20 August 2013 and 30 October 2013.
(2) On 3 December 2013 and 4 February 2014.
(3) Yes.
(4) The Public
Transport Authority has provided a delivery schedule; however, it should be
noted that the dates contained in it are as at 13 May 2014 and may be subject
to change.
Two dates are contained in the
delivery schedule—an early date and a late date. Production of the
railcars is now steady and the forecast in the delivery schedule is based upon
the supplier delivering railcars to the PTA by the early dates from railcar 9
onwards. I table the attached delivery schedule.
(5) All are currently in Western Australia.
