GASCOYNE TRADERS SITE — CARNARVON
I refer to question without notice 243 about the environmental assessment of the Gascoyne Traders site in Carnarvon. (1) Has the mandatory auditor’s report been submitted to the Department of Environment and Conservation; and, if not, when is it expected to be submitted? (2) If yes to (1), has DEC undertaken an assessment of the report? (3) Has the site been cleared of any adverse environmental issues? Hon HELEN MORTON

I answer on behalf of the Minister for Environment. I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. (1) No. As at 6 August 2010 the Department of Environment and Conservation has not received the mandatory auditor’s report. I understand that the auditor advised DEC on 26 July 2010 that the report is being finalised. The complete report is expected to be submitted to DEC by mid-August 2010. (2)–(3) Not applicable.
