(6) In relation to the operations of Australbricks Malaga, has the DEC taken action to address the interference that the Continuous Emissions Monitoring System was and is having on the ability to obtain reliable stack emissions monitoring data as required under their licence and as referred to in past quarterly monitoring reports from this plant to the DEC?

(5) On 28 July 2007, DEC received a complaint via email from a member of the public advising that visible plumes were leaving the Midland Brick stacks on the evening of 27 July 2007. The plumes were accompanied by brickworks odour. Midland Brick received the same complaint.
(6) Yes, Australbrick took appropriate steps to rectify the problem when the matter was brought to its attention. The stack testing now complies with the Australian Standard.
