I refer to an indication in the 2014 Premier's address that a new Heritage Act would be introduced and ask when this will occur, what is the reason for delay since that statement was made and will this hiatus impact on heritage listed government assets which have been earmarked for sale?

The Premier reaffirmed the Government's intention to introduce a new modernised Heritage Bill for Western Australia to Parliament this year in his opening address on 17 February.
Informed by two comprehensive rounds of community consultation, a Heritage Bill is currently being drafted and it is intended that it will be introduced later this year.
The timing of new heritage legislation will have no impact on the heritage-listed State assets that are earmarked for sale. Any heritage listed assets identified for sale are subject to the requirements of the Government Heritage Property disposal process.
