I refer to page 15 of the Tourism WA draft document Experience Perth - Tourism Development Priorities 2010-2015 which states, ‘At a strategic level, Tourism WA recently commissioned a study conducted by Jones Lang LaSalle to identify the barriers to tourism development in Western Australia’, and I ask -
(1) Has Tourism WA received the final report from Jones Lang LaSalle and if so, when?
(2) If yes to (1), did Jones Lang LaSalle identify any deficiencies in Tourism WA’s strategic planning or vision for the State’s tourism industry?
(3) If yes to (2), what were the deficiencies identified by Jones Lang LaSalle in Tourism WA’s strategic planning or vision for the State’s tourism industry?
(4) If yes to (3), did the Jones Lang LaSalle report make any recommendations regarding Tourism WA’s strategic planning and overall brand strategy?
(5) If yes to (4), what were those recommendations?
(6) If yes to (5), what actions has Tourism WA undertaken to implement the Jones Lang LaSalle report’s recommendations about Tourism WA’s strategic planning and overall brand strategy?

(1) Yes, in August 2009.
(2) - (5) I refer the Member to the Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels report which is available from Tourism Western Australia on request.
(6) A new brand and marketing campaign was launched in February 2010. The new brand will be used to guide the development and promotion of WA as a tourism destination for the benefit of the State's tourism industry. The current Strategic Analysis undertaken by Tourism Western Australia's Board will also guide the agency's focus and will address this recommendation.
